Stargate UK Cobalt Park (Nscale)

Planned AI data centre at Cobalt Park announced in September 2025 as part of Stargate UK, with Nscale hosting OpenAI's offtake of up to 8,000 Nvidia GPUs (potentially 31,000 over time) inside the North East AI Growth Zone. OpenAI paused Stargate UK in April 2026, citing energy costs and regulation, and a July 2026 Guardian investigation reported no grid connection and no meetings with local authorities. No planning application was found. Coordinates are approximate (Cobalt Park).
