Era4 The Mill Newport (former Liberty Steel site)
AI data centre in a disused building in a corner of the Liberty Steel site on the east bank of the River Usk, approved by Newport City Council in April 2026 for modular data centre units. Era4 says the first stage, called The Mill, comes online in 2027, and that the 230-acre site could eventually offer up to 1GW; first-phase capacity has not been published. Sources do not confirm it is part of the South Wales AI Growth Zone. Coordinates are approximate (Newport).
